A new spark emerges in an already volcanic story of Ryan Lochte. Speedo USA ended its sponsorship of Ryan Lochte for his late-night altercation at the Rio Olympics. Lochte had initially claimed this to be an armed robbery but was later found out to be a late night assault as reported here at Zuleb.
The swimsuit maker announced Monday it’s ending Lochte’s sponsorship and donating the same amount from his fee to a children organisation in Brazil called, Save the Children. The amount was later announced to be 50,000 USD.
“While we have enjoyed a winning relationship with Ryan for over a decade and he has been an important member of the Speedo team, we cannot condone behavior that is counter to the values this brand has long stood for,” the company further said “We appreciate his many achievements and hope he moves forward and learns from this experience.”
This is the first sponsor to drop Ryan Lochte after the incident and it’s speculate that further will follow adieu.
