Burkini Ban No Longer: French Top Court Suspends The Ban

Town of Villeneuve-Loubet had a ban on burkini swimsuits in France. That’s right, up until two days ago.

But with the anti-Islamophobic and human rights groups’ help, the ban is no longer in effect. The court will make a final decision on the legality of the bans later, but the top administrative court has suspended the ban on the “burkini” swimsuit or the full body covering swimsuit.

This ruling could set a precedent for other 30 towns that have imposed the ban on the burkini suits.

The burkini ban, since its imposing, has sparked stormy debates across the world.
